Dr Jonathan Louw

Jonathan Louw practised as an anaesthetist at St. Mary’s Hospital in London in the 1990s before leaving full time medical practice to join the pharmaceutical industry in 1999. He initially worked for AstraZeneca in South Africa. In 2001 he joined Adcock Ingram as the new business development executive, overseeing geographic expansion and spearheading acquisitions and new product development. Jonathan took over the management of the pharmaceutical business in late 2002, restructuring the business and integrating various acquisitions.

Andy Hall
Deputy Chief Executive & Financial Director

Andy Hall is the Deputy Chief Executive and Financial Director of Adcock Ingram. In addition to fulfilling his role as Deputy Chief Executive, he oversees Group Finance, Business Development, Corporate Affairs, Government Relations and the Company Secretariat. Andy joined Adcock Ingram in October 2007 as the Chief Financial Officer. Previously Andy has been the partner in charge of health sciences at Ernst & Young where he spent 13 years. He also has retail pharmacy experience of two years and spent five years in sales and marketing with Pfizer.

Basadi Letsoalo

A trained clinical psychologist, Basadi Letsoalo joined Adcock Ingram in January 2008. After a few career changes, she found herself drawn to the retail banking sector, initially with ABSA as head of HR information management and later with Standard Bank SA as head of transformation. Basadi spent a short stint with the Edcon Group as HR Strategist for special assignments prior to taking up her current role at Adcock Ingram.

Bill Tweedie

Bill Tweedie, currently the Commercial Executive for Southern Africa, was previously the Managing Executive for the Pharmaceutical business, including the Sub Saharan region. Bill has a financial background and has held various financial positions over the years including that of Group Financial Executive of Tiger Brands Ltd. In 2004 Bill embarked on a career change and re-joined Adcock Ingram in a sales and marketing executive position in charge of OTC. Bill has been an executive of Adcock Ingram Healthcare since unbundling from Tiger Brands in August 2008.

Dr Abofele Khoele

Abofele Khoele, a qualified medical practitioner, recently joined the Adcock Ingram Group, after serving for 6 years at Novartis South Africa where he held various positions in Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations before serving as Medical Director and Chief Scientific Officer for the last two years. Prior to joining industry, Abofele was a clinician in the field of general surgery.

Ntando Simelane

Ntando Simelane joined Adcock Ingram in 2009 as the Group’s Legal and Compliance Manager. Prior to joining Adcock Ingram Ntando spent almost 9 years at the SABC in various legal roles. His time at the SABC was preceded by a 4 year period at the Advertising Standards Authority of SA (ASA) where he worked as a dispute resolution consultant. His appointment as the Company Secretary followed a six months spell in the role in an acting capacity. He brings with him more than twelve years of legal experience. Ntando holds a B. Iuris degree and an LLB degree. He is currently reading towards a LLM degree, majoring in Company and Competition Law.

Kofi Amegashie

Kofi brings over 20 years multinational consumer marketing and general management experience gained with Chevron Corporation in the petroleum sector as well as The Coca-Cola Company in the UK, the US, Southeast Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. He supported African SME development as a manager at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and is co-founder of a strategy implementation consultancy focusing on sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining Adcock Ingram in October 2011 Kofi was CEO of Afrinet, the Alexander Forbes business on the African continent. Amegashie holds a BSc.(Hons) in Chemical Engineering and a MSc. in Management from the London Business School

Pravin Iyer

Prior to joining Adcock Ingram, Pravin was the CEO of the Medreich Group responsible for its global business operations leading a work force of 2700 people. While at Medreich he was also a member of the India American Trade Association and the Organisation of the Pharmaceutical Producers of India. He played a key role in the joint venture with Adcock Ingram and Medreich Group. He is a Commerce Graduate and an associate member of the Cost and Management Accountants of India and a certified CMA of Australia. He has more than 21 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
