Required Learning:

Job Purpose:  Oversees and performs raw material and monitoring sample testing in compliance with GMPs, raw material sourcing, qualification, and evaluation of technical information and documentation process and specification requirements compliance. Ensures that all Raw Material activities are carried out in accordance with the applicable provisions of GMP / GMPs, regulatory requirements and quality management systems so as to ensure that all risks related to raw material products are controlled.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical manufacturing industry of which 3 years minimum must be in a Quality Control laboratory.
  • Minimum 2 – 5 years Supervisory / Managerial experience
  • Degree / BTech / National Diploma in Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry
  • Computer competency with database and project management software such as Microsoft

Key Outputs :

  • Responsible for the qualification of existing & new raw materials
  • Management of the Raw Materials team, Raw Material Sampling teams and assisting with management of the Packaging department, in terms of planning, testing and output.
  • Assist with the sourcing of raw materials- Evaluate suppliers on existing raw material specifications for determining their suitability for inclusion for replacement / new ingredients
  • Coordinate specification development & review technical data
  • On-going internal and external technical support to Planning and Inventory departments, to ensure production needs are met
  • Update of Raw Material Specification updates
  • Troubleshoot / Investigation of Raw Material Out of Specification
  • All deviations / CAPAs and Change Controls raised are properly documented, investigated and closed
  • Conduct performance assessments for staff and manage non-deliverables
  • Implementation of Company policies
